Call for Proposals

  1. Welcome to the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) 2024 ASPPH Annual Meeting for Academic Public Health call for proposals. Submissions are sought for innovative ideas, promising and emerging practices, practical solutions, and experiences in addressing challenges and opportunities in graduate and undergraduate academic public health.

    The 2024 ASPPH Annual Meeting is March 21-23 in Arlington, VA. For more information visit http://www.aspph.org/annual-meeting.

    Please carefully review all of the information below before starting your submission.

  2. Submission Information

    Submissions for oral and poster presentations are sought in the following eight programmatic areas – please click on each program area for a list of suggested topics:

    1) Academic Public Health Research and Partnerships

    2) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

    3) External Relations and Advocacy

    4) Finance, Administration, and Operations

    5) Global Academic Public Health Initiatives

    6) Supporting the Student & Alumni Journey

    7) Teaching, Learning, and Accreditation

    8) Workforce, Practice, and Continuing Professional Education

  3. Session formats


    1. Oral (15-20 minutes paired with complementary submissions)
    2. Poster

    NOTE: If a submitter wishes to submit a proposal for an entire session, please email meetings@aspph.org.

  4. Submission Deadline

    Submissions are due Friday, October 13, 2023 by 11:59 PM PT.

    Proposal Notification

    Submitters will be notified via email of their proposal status in early December 2023. To receive notification, please make sure your email address is correct and up-to-date.

    Registration and Membership

    Membership is not required to submit a proposal or to register for the meeting. If your proposal is accepted for presentation, the presenting author(s) MUST register for and attend the 2024 ASPPH Annual Meeting for Academic Public Health in Arlington, VA.
  5. Proposal Requirements

    Please review the proposal requirements before starting your submission:
    1. Submitters must select a program and topic.
    2. Individuals may submit more than one proposal but may NOT submit the same proposal to more than one topic area.
    3. The proposal text may contain up to, but not more than, 500 words. No images, charts, or tables are allowed.
    4. All proposals must be free of commercial intent.
    5. No fees are required to submit a proposal; however, if your proposal is accepted the presenting author(s) MUST register for and attend the meeting.
    6. Incomplete proposals will not be reviewed/accepted.
    7. ASPPH ssuggests that submitters draft proposals offline before accessing the online submission form. Use the spell check and word count features of your word processor to check the text of the proposal before submitting it.
    8. To begin, click the "begin a submission" button under the program area of choice at the bottom of the page.

Review Criteria

  1. The proposal title is clear, timely, and relevant to the target audience (academic public health leaders, faculty, staff, students, and partners).
  2. The proposal has clear, achievable, and desirable learning objectives.
  3. The proposal text is clearly written and has conclusions supported by reported evidence.
  4. The overall strength of the proposal.
  5. Final Recommendation.
